Accessibility Statement for OE Service

This is an accessibility statement from OE Service GmbH.

Measures to support accessibility

OE Service GmbH takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of OE Service:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
  • Appoint an accessibility officer and/or ombudsperson.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. OE Service is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

To ensure our users experience seamless interaction with the new website, we are proactively addressing the following enhancements before and after the version 1.0 release:

  • Keyboard Navigation Optimization: We are actively refining and testing keyboard-only navigation both prior to and following the version 1.0 launch. This work focuses on ensuring comprehensive WCAG Level AA compliance, making certain that users can flawlessly navigate and interact with the entire website using only the Tab, Spacebar, and Arrow keys.
  • Post-Release Video Descriptions: Following the initial launch, we will implement a dedicated video description component. This feature will allow users to read—or listen to via assistive technologies—an extensive textual breakdown of the visual actions occurring within our video content.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of OE Service, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for OE Service:

  1. Videos on individual pages: There is currently no video description overlay/button that would explain what is happening in the video for users with eyesight issues, because we have not implemented a technical solution yet — but we are actively working on it. We will implement a button that opens the video description. Feel free to reach out to us if you notice any other issues connected with the videos.
  2. Navigation through the website is limited: Right now there are traps and pitfalls where the user could get stuck if they navigate with their keyboard, because certain ARIA tags are causing these pitfalls. We are actively working on a solution which will be rolled out before the final release of the website, and then upgraded post-release. Please note that on the Homepage, the user can get stuck on the marquee.
